I Love Water

We are 76% water!

It has been proven beyond a doubt that people who drink adequate amounts of water each day are healthier than those who do not drink enough water. Our bodies are made up of approximately 76% water and to keep our bodies functioning properly we need to continually consume water on a daily basis. Many people believe that they can do this by drinking one or two glasses of water each day. The truth of the matter is that we should be trying to drink eight or nine glasses of water each day.

Drink 8 to 9 glasses of water per day.

Water is the perfect liquid for human consumption. It will provide you with the daily energy that you need plus it is essential for healthy hair, nails, and skin. If you want your brain to focus and function properly then you need to stay hydrated. Water is easily accessible for most people and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. The secret to a healthy lifestyle is to consume fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, and water.

If you ask 100 people whether they like to drink water, the majority of them will say, “yes I enjoy drinking a cool glass of water, especially on a hot day”. There is nothing quite as refreshing as an ice cold glass of water after working for a long time outdoors under the heat of the sun. The problem is however that even though most people enjoy drinking water they just simply forget to do it or they want a bit more variety in flavor.

Set a time to drink water alarm.

The first thing that will help you drink more water is your smart phone, tablet, or watch. Most of these devices have built-in alarms. These built-in alarms can be set at an interval to remind you to drink a glass of water throughout the day. There are also many apps that have a built-in alarm and provide you with detailed information on how much water you have consumed during any particular time frame. It is always beneficial to drink water when you feel thirsty but you should at least try to have a glass every two hours.

Another tip that will help you to drink more water is to add specific things into your water to give it variety. One of the most common ways to do this is by drinking more herbal tea. Herbal tea is a great way to drink more water for two reasons. First of all, it provides you with a variety of flavors of which some may become your favorite. Second, you receive the benefits of the natural ingredients that are included in the herb tea.

Besides herb teas you can also infuse your water with a variety of other items such as lemon, lime, mint leaves, apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, or watermelon. Use your imagination because this is an excellent way to increase your water intake without increasing the intake of harmful sugars. During the cold winter months you can introduce a cup of hot water with honey and lemon to your family. If you have children get them involved when concocting interesting and creative water recipes. This will allow your children to understand the importance of consuming adequate amounts of water throughout their life. Whatever it takes, the bottom line is look for ways to increase your water intake.
